Questions from teachers

Do you cover every province and territory?

Not yet. Each province and territory sets its own curriculum, so the codes differ. We start with Ontario, Grades 1 to 12, and British Columbia. The tools work anywhere in Canada: pick the card that fits your topic.

Which Ontario grade covers space?

Grade 6, Strand E: Space. Space also comes up in Grade 1 (day, night and the seasons), Grade 4 (light), Grade 7 (heat from the Sun), Grade 9 (SNC1W, Space Exploration) and Grade 12 (SES4U, Earth and Space Science). See the Grades 1 to 8 and Grades 9 to 12 pages.

Why do the BC cards have no codes?

BC's curriculum has no item codes. Teachers name the course and the curriculum element instead, so each BC card does the same, for example Science 6, Big Idea: Newton's three laws. See the BC page.

Is there a French version?

Not yet. These pages are in English for now.

About these codes

These are our suggestions for where each tool fits. Always preview a page before using it with a class: some tools show ads, these school pages do not.

Ontario codes are specific expectations, for example E2.5. BC has no item codes, so BC cards name the course and the curriculum element.

Codes and course names from The Ontario Curriculum (© King's Printer for Ontario) and the BC Curriculum (© Province of British Columbia). Outcomes and activities are our own words. Orbital Radar is not affiliated with or endorsed by either ministry.
