What Missouri uses
Checked November 2026The Missouri Learning Standards for Science, written as grade-level expectations and adopted in 2016. Each code gives the grade or band, a core idea, an idea letter and a number, so 5.ESS1.A.1 is Grade 5, ESS1, idea A, expectation 1. Space shows up in Kindergarten, Grades 1 and 5, the 6-8 and 9-12 bands, and the gravity items under PS2.
