What Utah uses

Checked November 2026

The Utah Science with Engineering Education (SEEd) Standards, revised and adopted by the Utah State Board of Education in June 2023. Utah numbers each standard by grade, strand and position, so 4.4.1 is Grade 4, Strand 4, Standard 1, and high school courses add letters, as in ESS.1.2. Space shows up in Grades 1, 3, 4, 6 and 7, with the Sun-brightness idea a year earlier than the national pattern, then in Earth and Space Science, Chemistry, Physics and the supplemental Astronomy course.
